The daughter of an independent filmmaker and a clothing designer, Robindira’s design aesthetic was formed at an early age.
As a child, Robindira spent her afternoons in her mother's atelier sorting buttons, color coordinating her mother's vast collection of fabrics, and reading countless issues of Vogue and Bazaar, dreaming of the days when she would be grown up enough to wear runway fashion. When Robindira finished school, being unconventional like her parents, she chose a different path for her life. Instead of pursuing a career that she was familiar with, she chose to work in social services. Working with diverse populations such as AIDS dementia patients and adults with developmental disabilities, she learned to appreciate the strength, beauty, and amazing resiliency of the human spirit. And through this process she found the desire to create. And Robindira Unsworth, the company was born.
Now based in Sonoma County California, Robindira fills her life with inspiration to fuel ideas for her jewelry collections.
When not at her Moroccan inspired design studio, she is exploring far flung destinations for design ideas, working in her garden, or relaxing with her husband and two exuberant spaniels at home under their ancient wisteria vine. Robindira feels her greatest gift has been the many wonderful clients, artisans, friends and collaborators she has worked with over the years. "I feel very fortunate to have people of such beauty in my world. This is truly what inspires my work and I hope in turn my work will inspire others to create a rich life of their own".
